IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata men's lacrosse team dropped their game against Penn College 8-5.
The Wildcats claimed an early 2-0 lead in the first quarter, keeping the Macs scoreless through the first frame.
Steve Long broke the ice for the Macs in the second quarter, scoring on an assist from
Ben Wesolowski. A minute later, Long scored a man-up goal to tie the game up at 2-2 thanks to an assist from
Anthony Inserra. After a goal from the Wildcats, Inserra tied the match up as the score stood at 3-3 at halftime.
Similar to the start of the first quarter, Penn scored two goals to kick off the second half.
Bailey Manion scored with four minutes remaining in the third quarter as Immaculata was down 5-4.
The Wildcats then scored three straight goals to increase their lead over the Macs to 8-4.
Connor Teears scored with one minute remaining to cut the lead to 8-5, but the Macs were unable to cut the lead further as the Macs dropped the contest 8-5.

Cole Metzger recorded 22 saves in net for the Macs on the game, allowing eight goals. Offensively, Long scored two goals on three shots on goal while Inserra scored one goal and two assists.
The Mighty Macs will return to action on Wednesday as they host Drew in a 7:00 P.M. contest.
