IMMACULATA, Pa. – A late surge proved fatal as the Immaculata men's lacrosse team dropped its match against Albright on Wednesday 12-8.
After allowing three early goals, the Macs broke the ice on a goal from
Connor Teears, assisted by
Steve Long, as the score stood at 3-1 after the first quarter. The Macs were kept scoreless in the second quarter as the Lions scored three additional goals, taking a 6-1 lead over the Macs heading into the half.
The third quarter belonged to the Macs as they outscored the Lions 5-2 on the period, cutting the Lions' lead to 8-6.
Anthony Inserra and
Bailey Manion scored two goals in the first five minutes of the fourth quarter, cutting the Lions' lead down to 9-8. Unfortunately, the Lions kept the Macs scoreless in the final ten minutes, adding three goals of their own to claim a 12-9 win over the Macs.
Connor Teears led the Macs offensively on the game with three goals and two assists.
Bailey Manion, meanwhile, notched two goals and two assists.
The Mighty Macs will return to action on Saturday when they host Mount Saint Vincent.
