Mullins Scores Late to Lead Macs Past Haverford

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's basketball team claimed a late come-from-behind victory at home this evening as they defeated Haverford College 58-54. Reese Mullins led the Macs with 11 points including hitting the go-ahead basket with 42 seconds remaining off an in bound from Erin Kelly and pass from Olivia Ettorre. Mullins then iced the game hitting a pair of free throws with seven seconds left.

In the first quarter Immaculata opened a 16-6 lead behind 10 points from Erin Kelly including a pair of three pointers. Kaitlyn Racobaldo contributed four points, as the Mighty Macs ended the first quarter with a 20-12 lead.

The second quarter began with the team's exchanging baskets. Halfway through the quarter Immaculata held a 24-16 lead, before Abigail Boyer hit a three pointer as the Macs extended their lead to 11 points. Abigail Lentowski extended the Macs lead to 13 points with just under three minutes remaining. Haverford would close the lead to nine as Immaculata took a 31-22 lead into the half-time break.

In the third quarter Haverford came out of the break aggressive as they tried to chip away Immaculata's lead. Immaculata continued to maintain their lead early in the quarter behind baskets from Abigail Boyer, Morgan Falcone, and Olivia Ettorre. Haverford managed to close the lead to five as the third quarter ended with Immaculata leading 46-41.

In the fourth quarter Haverford took a 48-46 lead with 7:34 remaining in the game. Immaculata went right down the floor and regained the lead on a three pointer from Reese Mullins. Haverford would retake the lead and was up 52-49 with 3:23 remaining. Immaculata would tie up the game at 52-52 with 2:21 left on a jumper from Morgan Falcone. Following, Reese Mullins go ahead bucket with 42 seconds left, Morgan Falcone hit two crucial free throws to extend the Macs lead to 56-52. Haverford would score to make it a two-point game again, then Reese Mullins iced the game at the foul line as the Immaculata closed out a 58-54 win.

The Mighty Macs was led offensively by Reese Mullins with 11 points, Erin Kelly, and Abigail Lentowski each scored 10 points, and Kaitlyn Racobaldo added nine points. Morgan Falcone had eight rebounds, and four assists in addition to scoring six points.

The Immaculata women's basketball team (3-1, Overall) will be back in action on Saturday, November 19th when they take welcome Alvernia University to Alumnae Hall for a 1:00 PM game.
