IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata men's basketball team dropped their non-conference game against Messiah tonight by score of 69-60.
In the first half Immaculata jumped out to a quick 4-2 lead on baskets by
Keith Farmer and
Tyler Tillery. Messiah would respond with a 14-point run that would put them up 16-4.
Dez Murphy broke the run with a three pointer, before Messiah responded with a three pointer of their own. Messiah continued to maintain their lead as the half winded down. Immaculata's
Tim Schultice stole the ball with five seconds left in the half and drove for a buzzer beating layup, as Messiah carried a 34-24 lead into the halftime break.
At the half, the Macs were led in scoring by
Tyler Tillery with seven points.
Dez Murphy contributed six points, and
Keith Farmer had six rebounds.
Through the first ten minutes of the second half,
Dylan Crews,
Tyler Tillery,
Gregory Vlassopoulos, and
Scion Dorsey all scored. Unfortunately, the Macs could not gain any ground on the Falcons trailing 47-37. The Macs outscored the Falcons 23-22, in the final ten minutes, as Messiah took the game in a 69-60 final score.
Dylan Crews and
Tyler Tillery led the Macs on offense scoring 11 points each.
Tim Schultice scored 10 points.
Keith Farmer and
Steven Dao each contributed seven rebounds, and
Dylan Crews had six rebounds.
The Mighty Macs will return to action on Thursday night, November 17
th when they host the University of Valley Forge at 8:00 P.M.
