IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's basketball team dominated at home tonight, defeating Bryn Mawr College by a score of 71-25. The Mighty Macs improve to 2-1 on the season, and hand the Owls their first loss of the season.
Bryn Mawr opened the scoring in the first quarter, before Immaculata responded with a 17-point run to open a 23-4 lead.
Abigail Lentowski dominated in the first quarter scoring eight points and grabbing eight rebounds.
Reese Mullins and
Olivia Ettorre each scored four points as the Macs held a 23-5 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Immaculata stayed hot in the second quarter, outscoring Bryn Mawr 22-4 in the quarter.
Abigail Lentowski picked back up where she left off in the first quarter scoring 10 points and adding four rebounds.
Francesca Scarpone scored six points in the second quarter, and Immaculata carried a 45-9 lead into the halftime break.
In the third quarter
Abigail Lentowski scored six points early, before being subbed out.
Tessa Liberatoscioli and
Bridget Philbin scored baskets for the Macs as the carried a 56-17 lead at the end of the third quarter.
Immaculata continued to apply pressure on Bryn Mawr throughout the fourth quarter to increase their lead. The Mighty Macs concluded the game with a 71-25 victory over Bryn Mawr.
Abigail Lentowski led the way for Immaculata recording a double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds.
Francesca Scarpone scored 10 points, and
Olivia Ettorre,
Tessa Liberatoscioli, and
Savanna Crowding each scored six points for the Macs.
Morgan Falcone led the Macs with five steals on the night.
Immaculata women's basketball will be back in action on Thursday, November 17
th when they host Haverford College at Alumnae Hall for a 6:00 PM game.
