IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata University Women's Volleyball team fell 3 sets to 1 in tonight's Atlantic East Conference matchup against Gwynedd Mercy University.

The first set was close, with back and forth action with big runs from both teams. The Mighty Macs lost the first set 24-26 but brought strong energy into the second set, hanging on to take it 25-23. Unfortunately for the Macs, the momentum of the Griffins took over, dropping the third set 27-29 after the teams battled it out. In the fourth set the Griffins started out hot and never looked back, taking the clincher 13-25.Â

Immaculata senior Isabelle Davis recorded 13 kills to lead the team. Junior Emily Ettien tallied 29 assists to pace the Macs. Junior libero Lily Burnette led the way with 21 digs, while junior Ava Thorley tallied 15 and Ettien adding 14.Â

The Immaculata University Women's Volleyball team will return to Alumnae Hall this Wednesday, October 12th, to face Rosemont College in a non-conference matchup.
