HACKETTSTOWN, Nj. - The Immaculata women's soccer team dropped their Atlantic East Conference match vs. Centenary on Saturday afternoon by a score of 2-1
In the first half Immaculata started off strong, placing three shots on goal in the first fifteen minutes of play.
Tanis McDonnell,
Nicole Winouski, and
Rachel McNamee all registered shots on goal. The game remained scoreless until the 35
th minute when Centenary opened the scoring, converting a penalty kick to take the 1-0 lead. Centenary made that lead stand and took the 1-0 lead into the halftime break.
In the second half Centenary would extend their lead in the 49
th minute when they scored to take a 2-0 lead. Immaculata would close the score to 2-1 in the 88
th minute when
Jessica Gindle scored to give the Macs a chance to try to tie the match. Centenary would be able to hold on to take the match 2-1.
Immaculata would finish the day with a 13-12 advantage in shots, and a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal for the match.
Immaculata women's soccer will be back in action on Wednesday, October 26
th when they host Marymount University at Draper Walsh Stadium at 4:00 P.M. in their final Atlantic East Conference regular season match.
