ARLINGTON, Va.- The Immaculata women's volleyball team dropped their Atlantic Coast Conference opener against Marymount University 3-0 on Sunday afternoon. Marymount won the sets by scores of 25-15, 25-15, and 25-11.
In the first set, Immaculata jumped out to an early 3-1, and the score was at 6-6. Marymount found their way later in the set and took the first set 25-15.
In set two Immaculata again jumped out to an early lead and led the set 5-4. Like the first set, Marymount settled in and used a five-point run to build a 9-5 lead. Marymount would go on to take the second set 25-15.
In the third set, Marymount used a 10-point run to close out the match, taking the set by a score of 25-11.
Mia Esposito led Immaculata offensively with six kills, while Isabelle Davis and Ava Thorley each contributed 4 kills. Emily Ettien added 12 assists and two service Aces. Defensively Immaculata was led by Lily Burnette with 12 digs.
The Immaculata women's volleyball team will be back in action on Wednesday, October 5th when they travel to Marywood University for an Atlantic East Conference match at 7:00 PM.
