IMMACULATA,Pa.- The Immaculata University Field Hockey team defeated the visiting Manhattanville College Valiants this afternoon with a score of 2-1.
 
The first quarter saw Immaculata shots on goal from Abby Fekete, Maddy Edwards, and Gianna Gatto, with none finding their home in the opposing goal. The only Mighty Mac able to place a shot on goal in the second quarter was Gianna Gatto.
 
With the opposing Valiants striking first in the third quarter, the defending Mighty Macs tied up the contest shortly after. Immaculata senior Maddy Edwards scored the first Mighty Mac goal with an assist from junior Lauren Buckel. The Macs took the lead quickly with a goal from freshman Gabrielle O'Brien who scored off of an assist from senior Gianna Gatto. 
 
The fourth quarter would see a shot on goal from Mighty Mac Caitlyn Ryan, along with a clutch save by goalkeeper Julia Levase. Immaculata University would go on to close out the fourth quarter and secure a victory against Manhattanville College.
 
The Immaculata University Field Hockey team will return to Draper Walsh Stadium this Wednesday, October, 19th, to face Gwynedd Mercy University in Atlantic East Conference play, with a 7:00 start.
