IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata men's volleyball team dropped their Wednesday-night matchup against Eastern by a final score of 3-0.
Garrett Pepper led the Macs on the night with 16 kills.
The Mighty Macs and Eagles battled throughout set one, with the score standing at 19-17 late in the set. The Eagles managed to push through the Macs in set one, taking it by a 25-19 margin. Set two found the Eagles leading the Macs by one at 16-15 when the Eagles began to expand their lead. With a 19-15 lead, the Eagles secured set two by a score of 25-20.
Eastern took the lead quickly in set three, taking a 22-12 lead over Immaculata before Immaculata could respond. Though Immaculata went on a 6-1 rally at this point, it was too late to mount a full comeback as Eastern took set three 25-18 to secure the sweep.
Pepper led the Macs offensively on the night with 16 kills on the night along with two dig and one assist.
Joe Martell, meanwhile, recorded a team-leading 26 assists while earning two points and six digs.
John Bohrer also contributed with 12 points on the night and a team-leading eight digs.
The Mighty Macs will return to action next on Thursday, February 3
rd as the Macs travel to Messiah for a 7:30 P.M. match.
