CHESTER, Pa. – The Immaculata men's soccer team could not get going offensively as they dropped their second match of the season against Widener University 3-0 Sunday afternoon. The Mighty Macs now fall to 0-2 on the 2021 season.
Widener first got on the board in the 13
th minute of the game on a shot from beyond the box. Three minutes later, they added their second goal in similar fashion. The Pride would later add their third and final goal of the contest in the 69
th minute.
Offensively, the Mighty Macs were led in shots by sophomore
Christian Wuertz, who logged two shots on the day. Junior
Michael Smith and freshman
Damian Szumigraj also tallied one shot each.
Senior goalkeeper
Garrett Pepper earned his second consecutive start in net for the Mighty Macs, recording three saves on the day.
The Mighty Macs will next return to action on Wednesday for their home opener against the Stevenson University Mustangs. The battle between the Macs and Mustangs is scheduled to begin at 4:00 P.M.
