DALLAS, Pa. – The Immaculata men's soccer team was shutout by Misericordia 2-0 on Tuesday night. Following the loss, the Mighty Macs drop to 1-7-1 on the season while Misericordia improves to 5-1.
After 30 minutes of scoreless action, the Cougars broke the ice in the 31
st as Francisco Echeverria scored off a corner kick.
The score remained 1-0 heading into halftime. At the half, the Mighty Macs were trailing 11-3 in shots taken while senior goalkeeper
Garrett Pepper recorded five saves on the half.
Misericordia held their 1-0 lead going into the 82
nd minute when Jimmy Towers scored to increase Misericordia's lead to 2-0. The Mighty Macs applied additional offensive pressure in the final five minutes of action but failed to connect as the score remained 2-0 through 90 minutes.
The Mighty Macs were outshot 18-7 on the night by the Cougars. Junior midfielder
David Azzarano led the Mighty Macs on the day with two shots and one shot on goal on the day.
The Mighty Macs return to Draper Walsh Stadium on Thursday as they are set to face off against Bryn Athyn. Their match with the Lions is scheduled to kick off at 4:00 P.M.
