IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata women's soccer team returned to the field on Thursday evening for its home opener opposite non-league foe Haverford. Immaculata battled throughout the contest but fell by a final of 7-0.
In the first half, Immaculata outpossessed its guests for much of the opening 20 minutes of play but it was Haverford who found the back of the net first as the Fords tallied their first goal in the 15
th minute before adding a second tally just moments later in the 16
th minute. Haverford scored its final goal of the opening half in the 27
th minute off a well-placed cross from the far side of the field to claim a 3-0 lead heading to the halftime break.

Brooke Shissler played well through the opening 45 minutes making four big saves to slow the Haverford offense.
In the second half, Haverford added another goal during the 59
th minute to extend its lead to 4-0 over Immaculata. The Fords broke through again in the 66
th minute to move the score to 5-0 midway through the second half. Haverford added two more goals in the 81
st and 85
th minutes, respectively to prevail by a final of 7-0.
Shissler worked hard between the pipes for Immaculata as she made 12 saves in the season-opening setback.
As a team, Immaculata was outshot by a 27-4 margin (19-4 in shots on goal) while Haverford also ended the contest with a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.
Immaculata will be back in action on Sunday morning against Bryn Mawr with that contest set to begin at 11 a.m. inside Draper Walsh Stadium.
