IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata women's tennis team came out on top with an 8-1 victory over Marywood on Wednesday.
In first doubles,
Elizabeth Lipscomb and
Caleigh Masterman earned a convincing 8-1 victory.
Annamarie Degnan and
Morgan Jacob managed a hard-fought victory in second doubles, taking the set 7-3 following an 8-7 decision. Meanwhile,
Jessica Dougherty and
Kelly O'Brien completed the doubles sweep with their 8-5 victory in third doubles.
Masterman swept the competition in first singles, winning 6-0 in both sets. Jacob, meanwhile, won 6-1 in both sets of her second singles match. Lipscomb also went on to win fourth singles on a second set tie breaker, winning set one 6-3 before ultimately winning set two 13-11. In fifth singles, Dougherty won with 6-2 and 6-1 decisions. O'Brien went to three sets in her fight for sixth singles, losing set one 7-5 before winning sets two and three 6-1 and 10-7.
Degnan dropped third singles with consecutive 6-2 decisions.
