IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata Mighty Macs honored their senior class Sunday afternoon as they tied with the Cabrini Cavaliers 1-1.
Prior to the start of today's contest, Immaculata honored their five seniors: Samantha Donmoyer, Miranda Rojas, Julia Schumacher, Gwyneth Welsh, and Rachel Tuttle.
Cabrini scored first in the 31st minute on a header following a corner kick.
Five minutes later, in the 36th minute of action, the Mighty Macs tied the game up. Kristen Guthier fed a pass through a few Cavaliers defender to senior Julia Schumacher. Schumacher fought her way past the remaining Cabrini defender and scored, tying the match at 1-1.
At halftime, the score remained 1-1. The Mighty Macs outshot the Cavaliers 7-3 on the half.
Immaculata and Cabrini went back and forth throughout the second half. Immaculata had possession for the final minute of action, nearly scoring on a corner kick as time expired. Cabrini outshot Immaculata 5-0 on the half.
The game remained tied following two 10-minute periods of overtime, resulting in a 1-1 draw. Immaculata were outshot by Cabrini 13-9 on the day. All nine of the Mighty Macs' shots, however, were on goal versus only six for the Cavaliers.
The Mighty Macs return to action Monday evening as they travel to Marywood for a 7:00 P.M. matchup.
