IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata men's basketball dropped their matchup against No. 18 Swarthmore College on Thursday evening 80-57. Brandon McCullough led the Mighty Macs offensively on the night, earning 16 points.
Swarthmore took a strong lead out of the gate, taking a 19-6 lead six minutes into the contest. Immaculata spent the first half chipping away at Swarthmore's lead. Over the final six minutes of action, Immaculata outscored Swarthmore 14-6 to cut the deficit to 38-28 at the half.
At the half,
Brandon McCullough and
Keith Farmer led the Macs with six points scored each. Farmer also led the Macs defensively with six rebounds on the half. As a team, the Mighty Macs shot 10-for-27 (37.0%) from the field and 5-for-9 (55.6%) from the charity stripe on the half. The Macs' 3-for-10 (30%) three-point percentage also beat the Garnet's 1-for-8 (12.5%) from beyond the arc at the half.
McCullough continued to lead the Macs in scoring throughout the second half, scoring 10 points on the half. The Garnet, however, increased their lead, outscoring the Macs 42-29 on the half as the final score stood at 80-57.
Brandon McCullough led the Mighty Macs offensively on the day, scoring 16 points and recording four assists along with one rebound on the game. Keith Farmer, meanwhile, aided the Macs defensively 2ith a team-leading seven rebounds along with one steal, two assists, and 11 points on the game.
As a collective, the Macs out shot the Garnet 7-for-20 (35.0%) versus 4-for-16 (25.0%) from beyond the arc.
The Mighty Macs will ring in the New Year on the road as they travel to Arcadia on Sunday, January 2nd, for a 3:00 P.M. matchup.
