Mighty Macs Blowout Rosemont 84-52

IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata women's basketball team bounced back following their overtime loss over the weekend as they defeated Rosemont 84-52 on Tuesday night. Theresa Kearney and Abigial Lentowski scored 15 points and 14 points, respectively, to lead the Mighty Macs offense.
 
After the Ravens took an early 6-3 lead over the Macs, Morgan Falcone teamed with Kearney to score six straight points to take the lead for the Macs. Over the remainder of the quarter, the Macs held a lead over the Ravens for over eight minutes as the score stood 25-22 at the end of the first quarter.
 
Just over four minutes into the second quarter, the score stood at 30-28 when the Mighty Macs began what would become a 15-2 run. The run, led by Abigail Lentowski who scored six of the Macs' 15 points, gave the Macs a 45-30 lead over the Ravens going into the final minute of the first half.
 
At the half, Immaculata owned a 48-32 lead over Rosemont. As a team, Immaculata shot 16-for-39 (41.0%) from the field and 15-for-28 (53.6%) from the charity stripe.
 
The Macs continued to increase their lead from the jump in the third quarter, going on an 11-point run to start the quarter. Before the Ravens could find their footing, the Macs owned a 62-34 lead over the Ravens with four minutes remaining in the quarter. While the Ravens began to strike back, they could not regain ground as the Macs maintained their 28-point lead at the end of the quarter as the score stood 70-42.
 
Immaculata played a defensive game going into the fourth quarter, preventing Rosemont from getting back into the game. Immaculata outscored Rosemont 14-10 in the fourth quarter as Immaculata ran away with the 84-52 victory over Rosemont.
 
Kearney and Lentowski combined to score 29 points for the Macs on the game. Kearney also recorded six rebounds, five assists, and three steals while Lentowski led the team with nine rebounds and also earned a steal. Morgan Falcone and Kaitlyn Racobaldo each scored 10 points for the Macs as well.
 
The Mighty Macs will return to action next on Thursday as they host New Jersey City University for a 6:00 P.M. matchup.
