GLASSBORO, N.J. – Freshmen runners set new program top times as the Immaculata men's cross country team competed in the NCAA Metro Regional on Saturday. The Macs placed 19
th overall on the meet.
Ivan Zavala-Zavala led the pack for the Mighty Macs, placing 82
nd overall with a personal best time of 28:23.3. Zavala-Zavala currently owns the fourth best 8K time in Immaculata program history.
Joining Zavala-Zavala on the top times list is fellow freshman
Kieran Brackin, who finished 116
th overall while smashing his previous personal best with a time of 30:42.5. Brackin now owns the eighth best time in program history.
Gabriel DeRosa and
Nicholas John Speakman-Viggiano were the next two to finish for the Mighty Macs, finishing 131
st and 142
nd, respectively. The pair finished five seconds apart from each other with times of 32:44.4 and 32:49.9. Speakman-Viggiano's time was good for a new personal best.
Alex Poli then crossed the finish line at the 33:43.8 mark, good for 138
th place overall. He was followed by
Marchello Barile, who placed 146
th with a 35:23,4 finish.
Rounding out the day for the Mighty Macs was
Louis Faia, who earned a personal best while placing 156
th with an overall time of 40:58.6.
