Women's Soccer Shuts Out Centenary 3-0

IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata women's soccer team defeated Centenary 3-0 on Saturday as they continued Atlantic East Conference play. Following the victory, the Macs improved to a 1-1 conference record while Centenary drops to 0-2 in-conference.
 
The Macs got on the board early as Bridget McDonough scored in the 8th minute. Rachel McNamee had the ball on the sideline charging in before crossing to an open McDonough to finish the goal.
 
The score remained 1-0 heading into the half. At halftime, the Mighty Macs led the Cyclones 9-4 in shots with four shots on goal overall.
 
Six minutes into the second half, Kelsey Caldarelli had the ball deep inside the penalty box, pulling the goalkeeper toward her before sending the ball to an open McNamee who scored with an open net. Then, with under two minutes remaining in the half, Kelli Dombroski scored the final goal of the match on a breakaway.
 
Freshman Rachel McNamee led the charge offensively on the day for the Macs, scoring one goal and one assist on three shots. Defensively, Brooke Shissler recorded five saves in net for the Macs.
 
Overall, Immaculata led Centenary 17-7 in shots with a 10-5 advantage in shots on goal. In addition, Immaculata recorded five corner kicks on the match versus Centenary's one.
 
The Mighty Macs will return to action on Wednesday as they travel to Cabrini for a 7:00 P.M. matchup.
