SCOTT, Pa. – The Immaculata women's cross country team earned their highest placing in program history on Saturday at the Atlantic East Championship race held by Marywood University. The Mighty Macs finished with 64 points on the day, good for second overall.
Freshman
Emma McNamee turned in a fantastic day for the Mighty Macs, placing fourth overall on the race, smashing her 6K personal record with a 26:07.5 finish. Her time now places her in the top-six in program history on the 5K. Her fourth place finish also earns the freshman Atlantic East All-Conference First-Team honors.
Nicole Wheeler was next to finish for Immaculata, finishing in eighth place with an impressive 27:36.7 finish. Wheeler's finish earns her Atlantic East All-Conference Second-Team honors in her first collegiate cross country season.
The Mighty Macs then had
Maura Leardi and
Abigail Sprock finish next, placing 15
th and 16
th respectively on the race. Leardi's time of 29:13.6 placed her 2.5 seconds behind All-Conference recognition while Sprock finished two seconds later at 29:15.6. Leardi also broke her personal record in the 6K.
Peyton Hays,
Catherine Haas, and
Emily McGonigle were the next three to finish for Immaculata with respective 21
st, 23
rd, and 24
th place finishes. Hays finished with a time of 30:40.1 while Haas and McGonigle earned times of 31:09.6 and 31:15.5.
Lily Swarr and
Olivia Morris concluded the day for the Mighty Macs finishing in 27
th and 37
th with respective 32:06.3 and 36:19.7 finishes.
The Mighty Macs will return to action on November 13th as the compete in the NCAA Regionals.
