GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. – The Immaculata women's volleyball team dropped their match against Gwynedd Mercy 3-0 on Tuesday evening. The Mighty Macs dropped their sets by scores of 25-12, 25-11, and 25-23.
Immaculata was down 7-0 before registering a point in set one. The Mighty Macs dropped their match 25-12 overall while
Ava Thorley recorded two kills for the Macs.
Set two found Immaculata with a 12-4 deficit. Immaculata then responded with a three-point rally including a service ace by
Devyn Crowder and a kill by
Isabelle Davis. Despite the turnaround, Immaculata lost set two 25-11.
The Macs found themselves down 9-7 in set three before getting the ball back. The Macs then went on a seven-point rally including two service aces by Crowder to take a 14-9 lead. The Griffins did respond, however, to tie the match up at 14-14 before taking set three 25-23 to secure the sweep.
Davis led the Macs on the night with six kills while
Emily Ettien recorded eight assists on the night.
The Mighty Macs will return to action on Thursday as they host Ursinus for a 7:00 P.M. non-conference matchup.
