IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata women's volleyball team dropped their match against Marywood 3-0 on Wednesday evening. The Mighty Macs now drop to 0-3 in Atlantic East play with a 5-10 record overall on the season.
The Macs took an early 4-2 lead in set one thanks to early kills from seniors
Julianna Rotondo and
Devyn Crowder. The Pacers, however, would go on a six-point rally to take an 8-4 advantage. Despite a late surge from the Mighty Macs, the Pacers took set one 25-19.
Marywood took a 6-0 lead in set two and did not look back. Immaculata could not string together a run of their own as Marywood won set two 25-13.
Set three found Immaculata down 23-9 until
Emily Ettien was due up to serve for Immaculata. Ettien recorded five service aces to help Immaculata go on a nine-point run. The run, however, would not be enough as Marywood won set three 25-20 to win the match 3-0.
Ettien recorded five aces and 14 assists on the night to lead the Mighty Macs. McKenna Davis also recorded 22 digs to aid the Macs defensively.
Immaculata will return to action on the road on Friday as they are set to face Cabrini for a 7:00 P.M. matchup.
