ASTON, Pa. – The Immaculata men's soccer team won their match against Neumann 2-0 on Wednesday evening. The win gives the Mighty Macs a 5-9-1 overall record with a 3-2 record in Atlantic East play.
Josh Fonder scored one goal and registered an assist on the night for the Macs.
Fonder got the Macs on the board first with nine minutes to go in the first half. Freshman
Damian Szumigraj ripped a pass into the penalty box from 30 yards away when Fonder connected on a header past the goalie to give the Macs a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
Then, in the 59
th minute, Fonder crossed the ball to
John Bohrer for a one-time shot into the back of the net for the Macs' second goal of the match.
The Immaculata defense took care of the rest as Neumann only recorded two shots on goal on the night. On the night, Bohrer recorded one goal on two shots on goal while Fonder recorded one goal and one assist.
The Mighty Macs will return to Draper Walsh Stadium for their final Atlantic East Conference matchup on Saturday at 4:00 P.M. as they host Gwynedd Mercy. Prior to the start of the match, the Macs will honor their 2021 senior class.
