WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Immaculata women's soccer dropped a hard-fought match against King's College on Saturday night. After being down 2-0, the Mighty Macs came back to force overtime, losing the match 3-2 in overtime.

The Lions first got on board in the 15th minute as Leah Sanskey scored unassisted. Eight minutes later, Sanskey scored her second goal of the day to give King's an early 2-0 lead.

Then, in the 38th minute, the Mighty Macs responded. Junior Nicole Brennan found herself on a break, scoring on an empty net following an attempted clearance by the Lions' goalkeeper. The score would remain 2-1 heading into the half.

Shortly after the half, the Mighty Macs tied the match up at 2-2. In the 47th minute, Nicole Winouski intercepted a King's clearance. Winouski then found Kristen Guthier charging down the right side of the field on a pass before Guthier put the ball away with a long shot over the Lions' goalkeeper.

For the remainder of the second half, the Mighty Macs and Lions stood at a stalemate with neither team letting up a goal. Senior goalkeeper Brooke Shissler owned seven saves on the match, keeping the Macs in the game heading into overtime. Five minutes into overtime, however, Ashley Dukehart scored, securing the 3-2 victory for King's.

Guthier led the Mighty Macs offensively, scoring one goal on two shots on the day. Shissler, meanwhile, recorded eight saves overall on the match.
