HARRISBURG, Pa. – The Immaculata women's volleyball dropped their non-conference match against Penn State Harrisburg 3-0 on Thursday night. The Macs now drop to 4-9 overall on the season.
The Macs took an early 3-0 lead in set one thanks in part to two service aces by
Emily Ettien. The Nittany Lions, however, went on a 10-2 run to take a 10-5 lead. The Lions maintained their lead for the rest of the set, taking set one by a score of 25-17.
Falling quickly into an 8-0 hole in set two, the Macs could not rally offensively in set two, combining for four kills on the set on their way to a 25-10 loss.
In set three, Immaculata was on top early on with a 7-4 advantage before Penn State began to regain control. Penn State won set three 25-19 on their way to a 3-0 sweep over Immaculata.
The Mighty Macs only accrued 16 kills overall on the match with
Ava Thorley leading the Macs with four.
Isabelle Davis, meanwhile, led the team with 15 digs while Ettien recorded 11 assists on the night.
The Mighty Macs will return to action Monday night as they host Rosemont for a 6:30 P.M. non-conference matchup.
