IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata men's soccer team dropped a hard-fought match against Cabrini on Tuesday night. The 3-1 loss is the Mighty Macs' first Atlantic East Conference loss, dropping to a 2-1 record and a 4-8-1 overall record. Cabrini meanwhile improves to an 8-4-2 record with a 3-0 conference record.
The Mighty Macs got on the board first in the ninth minute as
John Bohrer stole a ball from a Cavalier defender deep in their zone. Bohrer then scored on the ensuing break to give the Macs an early 1-0 lead.
The Macs maintained their lead until three minutes before the half, when Trent Valle scored to tie the match at 1-1 heading into halftime. At the half, the Macs were down 9-3 in shots.
Five minutes into the second half, Matt Duddy scored to give Cabrini the lead. For the remainder of the second half, the Mighty Macs only accrued two shots while Cabrini registered 12 on the half. Nick LoBiondo scored in the 85
th minute to seal the deal as Cabrini defeated Immaculata 3-1.
Senior goalkeeper
Garrett Pepper registered five saves in net for the Macs on 11 shots on goal. Offensively, Bohrer scored on his only shot of the night while
Josh Fonder recorded two shots.
The Mighty Macs will return to action on Saturday as they host Marymount for a 3:30 P.M. match.
