IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata field hockey team dropped their match against Misericordia Monday night 2-0. The Immaculata offense was shut down for a majority of the match while Misericordia continued to take chances at the Immaculata net.
The first goal came in the third minute of the competition as Anna Effinger scored on an assist from Kristen McClosky. The score remained 1-0 for a majority of the match with the second goal for the Cougars coming in the 54
th minute. Effinger had the assist this time as Mikayla Cavenas scored.
On the match, the Mighty Macs were outshot 20-0 with 17 of the Misericordia shots being on goal. Freshman goalkeeper
Julia Levase recorded 14 saves, a season-high for the rising goalie.
The Mighty Macs will return to conference play on Wednesday with a 4-10 record (1-1 AEC). Their match on Wednesday will be against St. Mary's College of Maryland and will be at 4:00 P.M. at Draper Walsh Stadium.
