IMMACULATA, Pa. – The Immaculata women's tennis team continued their fall 2021 scheduled with a loss against Bryn Mawr college on Friday afternoon 8-1.
The Mighty Macs were swept in doubles action with
Annamarie Degnan and
Pamela Kontaras dropping first doubles with a score of 8-4.
Jessica Dougherty and
Kelly O'Brien dropped their second doubles matchup 8-0 while
Jenna Muttik and
Audrey Keen lost third doubles 8-2.
Freshman
Pamela Kontaras earned the sole victory for the Mighty Macs in third singles. After dropping set one 6-2, she rebounded and won the next two sets 6-0 and 10-8.
Degnan and Dougherty dropped their first and second singles matches with scores of 6-2, 6-1, and 7-5, 6-1. O'Brien, meanwhile, dropped fourth singles with 6-0 and 6-2 scores. Keen and
Katie Gardner also dropped fifth and sixth singles with scores of 6-0, 6-2 and 6-0, 6-1 to close out competition.
The Mighty Macs will return to action on Saturday as they host Moravian for a 12:00 P.M. matchup.
