READING, Pa.- Following a heart-breaking OT loss at the hands of Hood on Saturday afternoon, the Immaculata men's lacrosse team returned to action on Thursday evening at Albright.
Steve Long had an incredible day for the Macs with seven goals to lead Immaculata to a 13-10 comeback victory over Albright for the Macs first victory of the season and the team's first win under Interim Head Coach

Albright scored the first two goals of the contest in the first four minutes to claim a 2-0 lead before
Cole Metzger answered with a goal of his own to trim the deficit to 2-1. Albright would find the back of the net again with 8:52 left in the first quarter before Immaculata responded with a pair of goals from
Steve Long to even the score at 3-3. The teams would trade goals from this point as Albright answered back to reclaim a 4-3 lead before Long found the back of the net off a feed from
David Azzarano to even the score at 4-4. With 2:18 to play in the opening quarter, Long struck once again to give Immaculata its first lead of the game at 5-4, thus, prompting an Albright timeout late in the first quarter of play.
Just over one minute into the second period of play, Metzger took a feed from
Sean Evans to give the Macs a 6-4 lead. Over the next seven minutes of action, Albright would answer back with a pair of goals of its own to even the score at 6-6 with six minutes to play in the first half. With 4:54 to play, Azzarano took a feed from
Anthony Inserra, which restored a slim one-goal (7-6) lead for the Mighty Macs heading to the halftime break.
Following halftime, Albright scored three of the first four goals of the second half with the lone Immaculata tally belonging to Inserra as Albright claimed a 9-8 lead with nine minutes to play in the third quarter. Albright added another tally to extend the lead to 10-8 before Long responded with two more goals to even the score at 10-10 late in the third quarter of play. Azzarano followed this up with a goal of his own of an assist from Evans to give the Macs a slim 11-10 lead late in the third quarter. Inserra and Long would add goals in the closing minutes of the third stanza to claim a 13-10 lead heading to the halftime break.
During the fourth and final quarter of play, the teams engaged in a defensive battle as neither side was able to find the back of the net in the final 15 minutes as Immaculata rolled to the 13-10 victory.
Denton States worked hard in goal making 13 stops while allowing just 10 goals en route to the victory. Long led the way for the Macs with a game-high seven points while Evans contributed four assists for a total of four points on the evening. Additionally, Inserra and Azzarano ended the evening with two goals and one assist each to help bolster the Macs offense.
Bobby Bausman was crucial for Immaculata as he ended the game leading the team in ground balls with 10, and caused turnovers with four while also going 8-for-15 at the faceoff x.
As a team, Immaculata was 3-for-9 on extra-man opportunities while also going 13-of-25 on faceoffs in the victory. Immaculata was also an impressive 18-for-22 on clearing attempts in the victory.
Immaculata will be back in action next Wednesday evening in its home opener vs Susquehanna with that contest set to begin at 6 p.m.
