ORLANDO, Fl.- Following a victory over Division II Shippensburg yesterday, Immaculata returned to action this morning against Ithaca. Despite capturing second doubles, Immaculata fell to Ithaca by a final of 8-1.
In doubles action, the pairing of
Caleigh Masterman and
Elizabeth Lipscomb recorded the lone victory of the day for the Mighty Macs at second doubles by a final of 8-3. At first doubles,
Morgan Jacob and
Annamarie Degnan fell by a final of 8-2 before
Kelly O'Brien and
Jessica Dougherty dropped their third doubles match by a final of 8-4.
In singles play, Masterman dropped her first singles match 7-6, 6-4 while Jacob fell at second singles 6-2, 6-1. In third singles, Degnan fell 6-2, 7-5 while Lipscomb dropped her fourth singles match 6-1, 6-0. Dougherty fell at fifth singles by a final of 6-1, 6-1 before O'Brien dropped her third singles match 6-2, 6-0 in the 8-1 setback.
Immaculata will enjoy an off-day tomorrow before returning the court on Thursday to square off against Division II Bentley with that contest set to begin at 11:30 a.m.
