ORLANDO, Fl.- The Immaculata women's tennis team was back in action on Thursday morning against another Division II foe in the Bentley Falcons. Immaculata battled throughout the match but Bentley ultimately prevailed by a final of 5-2.
In doubles action, the pairing of
Annamarie Degnan and
Morgan Jacob fell at first doubles by a final of 6-3 while the pairing of
Kelly O'Brien and
Jessica Dougherty dropped their third doubles match 7-6. At second doubles,
Caleigh Masterman and
Elizabeth Lipscomb won their match by a final of 6-3, however, under Division II scoring rules Bentley held a 1-0 lead heading to singles play.
In singles action, Masterman captured her singles match 6-4, 6-3 while Jacob dropped her second singles battle by a final of 6-1, 6-2. In third singles, Degnan fell 6-2, 6-4 while Lipscomb fell in fourth singles 7-5, 6-3. Dougherty captured her fifth singles match 6-3, 6-3 before O'Brien fell in the sixth singles spot 6-4, 6-2 in the 5-2 setback.
Immaculata will play its final match of its Spring Trip to the Sunshine State tomorrow morning against nationally-ranked foe Kenyon with that match set to begin at 11:30 a.m.
