WILKES-BARRE, Pa.- The Immaculata men's volleyball team returned to action for the first time in 2020 on Wednesday evening on the road opposite non-conference foe Kings. Despite a strong third-set effort, Immaculata fell to Kings 3-0 to open the season with a setback.

In the first set, Kings jumped out to an early lead en route to a 25-9 first set victory. The hosts followed a similar plan in the second set once again gaining early momentum to earn a 25-11 victory over Immaculata to claim a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.

During the third set, Kings again opened with an early run before Immaculata was able to respond with several short runs of its own to remain in the third set throughout. Unfortunately, Kings stiffened late in the set to earn the 25-21 victory and close out the 3-0 match victory.

Garrett Pepper and John Bohrer tied for the team-high in kills with seven kills each while Pepper also led the team in digs with six digs on the evening. Donte Ramos ended the match with a the team-lead in assists registering nine helpers in the setback.

As a team, Immaculata recorded a hitting percentage of just .041 while its hosts registered a solid .406 hitting percentage.

Immaculata will be back in action on Friday evening vs Wilkes with that match set to begin at 7 p.m. inside Alumnae Hall.
