Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Stevenson Slips Past Immaculata

Owings Mills, Md.- The Immaculata men's soccer team was back in action on Wednesday evening on the road at Stevenson looking to bounce back after a difficult loss vs Moravian on Saturday afternoon. After a scoreless first half, Stevenson scored a pair of goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half en route to a 2-0 victory over the Mighty Macs.

How it Happened:
  • In the first half, each side had its chances but stellar defense and a little bad luck for each team was enough to send the game to the halftime break even at 0-0.
  • In the second half, Stevenson broke the tie just 22 seconds into the half before adding another goal in the 54th minute to pull ahead 2-0 early in the second half. Immaculata applied pressure for the remainder of the half but Stevenson was up to the task defensively in the 2-0 victory over Immaculata.
  • Mikey Kalpokas got the start in goal for the Macs making eight big saves to slow down the Stevenson offense while his counterpart Matt Stellitano made three nice saves of his own in the victory.
Inside the Box Score:
  • Stevenson ended the contest with a gaping 29-9 edge in shots and an 11-3 edge in shots on goal.
  • The Mustangs also ended the contest with a 9-2 edge in corner kicks.
