Women's Soccer Falls to Haverford

HAVERFORD, Pa.- On the heels of a convincing victory over Keystone on Saturday afternoon, the Immaculata University women's soccer team made the trip down 30 for its first road test of the season at Haverford. Haverford raced out to an early 3-0 lead during the first half of play and rode this early advantage to a 5-0 victory over visiting Immaculata.

How it Happened:
  • Haverford opened the scoring just nine minutes into the contest and then proceeded to add two more goals in the 31st and 33rd minutes to claim the 3-0 lead heading to the halftime break.
  • In the 56th minute, Haverford added another goal, which increased the lead to 4-0 in favor of the hosts.
  • Haverford added another tally during the 78th minute from its fourth different goal scorer of the afternoon to claim a 5-0 lead.
Inside the Box Score:
  • Haverford outshot Immaculata by a margin of 29-4 highlighted by a 16-0 advantage in shots on goal. Brooke Shissler had a busy afternoon between the pipes making 11 big saves to keep the Macs in the game throughout.
  • Haverford also ended the game with an 8-5 edge in penalty corners.

Immaculata will be back in action on Saturday afternoon at home opposite Lycoming with that game set to begin at 1 p.m. This contest is the middle game of a special Family Day Triple Header from Draper Walsh Stadium that will begin at 11 a.m. with men's soccer hosting Moravian and conclude at 4 p.m. when field hockey plays host to Kings.
