Women's Volleyball Falls in Tri-Match

IMMACULATA, Pa.-Looking to bounce back from a difficult loss at the hands of York on Wednesday evening, the Immaculata University women's volleyball team took the floor this afternoon for a tri-match vs Rutgers Camden and Widener. Unfortunately, the Macs did not get the victories they were hoping for as they dropped each match by a final of 3-0.

How it Happened:
In the first match of the day vs Rutgers-Camden, Immaculata and its guests traded runs throughout the opening set but it was a late run by Rutgers-Camden that enabled the Scarlet Raptors to win the first set 25-21. In the second and third sets, Immaculata raced out to early leads but unfortunately these leads were short-lived as Rutgers-Camden answered back with big runs of its own to claim each set by a final of 25-13 to win the match by a final of 3-0.

In this match, Jade Rindock led the team in kills with eight kills on the afternoon while Megan Daugherty led the way in assists with 9 while also leading the team in digs with 16 digs on the afternoon. McKenna Ryan was the other Mighty Mac to register in the double-digits in digs as she finished with 10 digs of her own in the setback. As a team, Immaculata ended the match hitting .036 while Rutgers-Camden ended with an impressive .263 hitting percentage.

In the final match of the afternoon vs Widener, The Macs and Pride battled trhough a close first set that featured a match-high 10 ties and four lead changes before a mid-set run by the Pride gave the guests a lead that they would never relinquish in the 25-21 first set victory. In the second set, things continued to be close as the two teams once again battled but Widener gained the upperhand midway through the set and rode this advantage to a 25-16 second set victory over the Mighty Macs. The third and final set of the match, was a similar story to the previous two sets as the Macs once again battled hard through the early going until a strong run from the Pride gave the visitors a lead they would not relinquish in the 25-11 third set victory, thus, giving the Pride the match victory by a final of 3-0.

In this match, Rindock and Aly Lowe tied for a team-high in kills with 10 kills a piece while Daugherty led the way in assists again with a match-high 22 helpers. Ryan ended the match with eight digs of her own, which was a team-high. As a team, Immaculata hit .150 on the match while its foes registered a hitting percentage of .343.
