IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata University women's tennis team opened its home slate on Saturday afternoon vs Penn State Harrisburg. Immaculata battled throughout the afternoon but ultimately fell by a final of 8-1.
In doubles play,
Caleigh Masterman and
Elizabeth Lipscomb dropped first doubles by a final of 8-1 while
Annamarie Degnan and
Morgan Jacob fell at second doubles by a final of 8-2 with the doubles tandem of
Kelly O'Brien and
Jessica Dougherty dropping third doubles by a final of 8-0.
In singles play, Masterman dropped first singles 4-6, 3-6 while Jacob fell 7-5, 6-7, 7-10 in the second singles spot. At third singles, Degnan lost 3-6, 3-6 while Lipscomb captured her fourth singles match 6-4, 7-5 as the lone point of the day for the Mighty Macs. Dougherty fell in fifth singles play 6-4, 5-7, 7-10 before O'Brien dropped her sixth singles match 0-6, 1-6 in the 8-1 setback.
The Mighty Macs will be back in action on Saturday, September 28 in the first day of a two-day Tournament at Goucher.
