IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata University women's soccer team was back in action on Saturday afternoon in the final game of its season-long, six-game home stand opposite a former conference rival in the Keystone College Giants. Immaculata raced out to an early lead in the first half of play and used the early advantage to claim the 8-0 victory over the visiting Giants.
How it Happened:
- Julia Schumacher opened the scoring early just 1:50 into the game with a strike from the left side of the box to give the Macs the early lead.
- Schumacher followed this up with an assist on a goal by Riley Rudd during the 10th minute of play to give the Macs a 2-0 lead.
- Bridget McDonough broke through with a goal of her own in the 26th minute off an assist from Samantha Donmoyer, which gave the Macs a commanding 3-0 lead heading to the halftime break.
- Kelli Dombroski used an assist from Riley Rudd during the 55th minute of play to give the Macs a 4-0 lead.
- In the 57th minute, Corrinne Karas took a beautiful assist from Carly Quigley to extend the lead to 5-0 before Eleana Kriebel added a goal of her own in the 68th minute to claim the 6-0 lead.
- Tanis McDonnell added a goal of her own off an assist from Nicole Brennan during the 76th minute to claim a 7-0 advantage.
- In the 85th minute of play, Hope Bizal registered a goal of her own off an assist from Marleigh Davis to give the Macs the 8-0 victory.
- Brooke Shissler had a relatively quiet day between the pipes for the Mighty Macs making just three saves all of which came during the second half of play in the 8-0 victory.
Inside the numbers:
- Immaculata ended the game with a gaping 31-6 advantage in shots including a 17-3 lead in shots on goal.
- The Macs also ended the contest with a 10-1 lead in corner kicks.
- Riley Rudd is now in a tie for third in goals for her career with 19 goals on her career while also taking possession of third place all-time in points as she now has 47 points for her career.
