Women's Volleyball Clipped by York

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata University women's volleyball team was back in action on Thursday evening looking to extend its winning streak opposite a talented team from York College. Despite battling the Spartans throughout the match and capturing the second set, Immaculata fell by a final score of 3-1 (9-25, 28-26, 25-19, 25-19) to drop to 3-2 on the young season while the Spartans improve to 4-3 on the year.

How it Happened:
  • In the opening set, York went on an early run thanks in large part to an impressive serving performance that saw the Spartans hold the Mighty Macs to a hitting percentage of -.182, which was the lowest performance of the match.
  • The second set was a closely contested affair throughout as neither team was able to get much separation, thus, forcing the set to be extended beyond 25 points, which benefitted the Macs as they prevailed 28-26 to even the match at 1-1 heading to the third set.
  • The third and fourth set were tight throughout but ultimately it was a late run by York in each set that enabled the Spartans to capture each set by a score of 25-19, which enabled the Mighty Macs visitors to earn the 3-1 victory.

  • For the match, Immaculata hit just -.015 while the Spartans hit .178 in the victory.
  • Natalie Dependahl had a stellar performance as she led the Macs in both kills (13) and aces (4) in the setback.
  • McKenna Ryan had a busy evening for the Macs as well registering a team-high 19 digs while teammate Isabelle Davis was close behind with 13 digs of her own.
  • Megan Daugherty ended the match as the Mighty Mac leader in assists as she dished out 16 assists on the evening.
