Field Hockey Falls to Widener on Wednesday Evening

CHESTER, Pa.-On the heels of an impressive 7-0 victory over Lancaster Bible on Saturday afternoon, the Immaculata University field hockey squad took to the road once again on Wednesday evening to square off against the Widener Pride. Widener used a steady offensive attack throughout the contest to prevail with the 3-0 victory over Immaculata on Wednesday evening.
 
How it happened:
  • Widener scored a pair of goals in the first half with one goal coming in each quarter to claim a 2-0 lead heading into the third quarter of play.
  •  In the third quarter, Widener added another goal to claim a 3-0 lead heading to the fourth. 
  • Randie Kuhar worked hard in goal turning in nine saves while facing 12 shots but unfortunately it was not enough in the 3-0 setback to the Pride on Wednesday evening.
 Inside the Box Score:
  • As a team, Widener ended the contest with a gaping 19-5 advantage in shots including a 12-2 edge in shots on goal at the end of regulation.
  • Widener also ended the contest with a 9-3 advantage in penalty corners .
 
Up Next:
Immaculata will return home on Saturday afternoon to face McDaniel beginning at 3 p.m. in game two of a doubleheader inside Draper Walsh Stadium on Saturday.
