HAVERFORD, Pa.- The Immaculata University field hockey squad opened its 2019 season on Friday afternoon on the road opposite a talented Haverford team. Unfortunately, Haverford proved to be a difficult test for Immaculata as the Fords prevailed by a final of 9-0.
How it Happened:
- In the first half, Haverford opened the scoring within the first two minutes of regulation and continued to apply pressure throughout the half to claim a commanding 4-0 lead heading to the halftime break.
- In the second half, Haverford continued to apply pressure and this paid dividends for the Fords as they recorded five more goals before the end of the contest to earn the 9-0 victory.
- Jackie Victor and Randie Kuhar shared the time in goal and both goalies worked extremely hard in the setback combining for 11 saves between the two (three saves for Victory and eight for Kuhar) over the course of their 60 minutes of work.
Inside the Box Score:
- Haverford ended the game with a 27-3 edge in shots including a 20-2 advantage in shots on goal while also leading the Macs 8-3 in penalty corners.
- Shannon Lozier, Layne Kennedy, and Macy Greene all recorded one shot a piece for the Mighty Macs with Kennedy and Lozier registering a shot on goal as well.
