NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Immaculata University men's volleyball team returned to action Friday in its final match before hosting the program's first-ever tri-match next Saturday against Brooklyn College and Elizabethtown College. The Mighty Macs fell to the host Bearcats in non-conference action in straight sets.
Garrett Pepper led the Macs with three kills, a service ace, a block and three assists in the effort.
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Mighty Macs were able to keep pace with the Bearcats in the opening stages of the first set thanks to a
Bryce Wiltbank service ace and kill, but Baruch went on to record seven-straight points to take a seven-point advantage. Despite winning eight of the final 15 points of the first set, Baruch took the opener, 25-14.
-Immaculata fell behind early in the second set and was unable to piece together a comeback in the second set, falling 25-10.
-The Macs and Bearcats drew even at five points apiece in the third set, but a 7-0 Baruch run was the first and only lead they would need in the third and final set, despite a late Immaculata run to keep the match alive.
