Macs Attack Can't Keep Pace With Monarchs

IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Mighty Mac men's lacrosse team (2-6) was unable to get their offense going on Wednesday afternoon at Draper Walsh Stadium as they netted two first half goals, but were only able to muster two more the rest of the way in a 12-4 loss to King's (2-6).
 
The Mighty Macs had four different goal scorers while freshman James Barretta added two assists while junior Denton States made 18 stops in the cage.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The Monarchs started with a pair of tallies over the opening ten minutes by junior Ethan Johnson and freshman James Barretta knotted it up with two minutes to go in the first quarter.  King's took the lead with 20 seconds to go in the quarter
-King's continued their momentum to start the second with three straight out of the gates, but Barretta provided the helper to sophomore Steve Long with 1:20 to go in the half to make it 6-3 at the break
-Unfortunately, the Mighty Macs were unable to keep up in the second half as King's scored the first six goals over a quarter and a half and the Macs got a tally from freshman Cole Metzger to get to the final of 12-4
 
TEAM COMPARISON
-The Macs were outshot, 53-26, and King's scooped up 38 groundballs to 22 for the Macs
-IU turned over 25 times and King's did so 17 times
-The Mighty Macs struggled to clear it at 13-for-25 for the game while King's was 17-for-19
-King's held the faceoff edge, 12-8
