ARLINGTON, Va.- The Immaculata men's volleyball team (0-8) had their second straight road Continental Volleyball Conference contest in Virginia on Saturday evening at Marymount, and the Macs fell in straight sets, 25-7, 25-6, 25-8.
Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
-The first set featured the teams exchanging six straight points punctuated by a kill from freshman
Garrett Pepper to make it 3-3. Marymount ran off seven straight, but the Macs earned some points back to cut the deficit to 12-7 before Marymount scored the final 13 points of the set to close it out
-The teams again traded points early at 2-2, and a couple service errors allowed IU to stay close at 11-4, but eight straight by the Saints put some distance between the two sides. A Pepper kill late gave IU their final point before the Macs dropped the set
-In the final set, the Macs fell behind 4-0 before two straight, including a Pepper kill, but Marymount then scored nine straight to make it 13-2. IU stemmed the tide with three straight points, and they'd add a couple more late in the set, but they fell 25-8 to drop the match
