ARLINGTON, Va. –Following a 1-0 victory over Goucher on Monday afternoon, the Immaculata University women's soccer team remained on the road Wednesday evening to face conference opponent Marymount University Saints. After a scoreless first half, Immaculata registered a pair of goals en route to the 2-0 victory over the Saints
How it Happened:
- In the first half of play, both teams had a scoring opportunities, however, the defense for both Marymount and Immaculata proved to be up to the task as the game went to the halftime break even at 0-0.
- In the 80th minute, Imamculata's Bridget McDonough put the Macs on the scoreboard off an assist from Riley Rudd to claim a 1-0 lead late in the second half.
- Just moments later in the 81st minute, Carly Quigley added another goal to give Immaculata a commanding 2-0 lead late in the contest.
Inside the Box Score:
- Immaculata outshot Marymount 18-8 while also winning the shots on goal battle 10-2.
- Immaculata also ended the contest with a 6-1 edge in corner kicks.
