Women's Soccer Plays to Scoreless Draw at Cabrini

RADNOR, Pa.- Looking to build off the momentum from its 2-0 victory over Marymount to open Atlantic East play on Wednesday evening, the Immaculata University women's soccer team took to the road on Saturday afternoon to face a familiar foe in the Cabrini Cavaliers.  The game was close throughout and thanks to the efforts of the Immaculata defense led by 14 saves from Brooke Shissler the contest ended in a scoreless draw to move both teams to 1-0-1 in Atlantic East play.

How it Happened:
  • In the first half of play, Shissler made five great saves to hold off the Cabrini offense and send the contest to the halftime break even at 0-0.
  • In the second half, it was more of the same as Shissler made six more exceptional stops in goal while her Cabrini counterpart made two big saves of her own to force the game into overtime still tied at 0-0.
  • During overtime, each team had its chances to score, however, each defense was up to the task, thus, leading to the game ending in a scoreless 0-0 draw.
Inside the Box Score;
  • Cabrini ended the game with a 34-8 edge in shots including a 14-2 advantage in shots on goal.
  • Cabrini also ended the game with a 15-2 advantage in corner kicks.
  • This draw extends the Macs unbeaten streak to three games and runs their unbeaten streak against Cabrini to three games dating back to the 2017 season.
