IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Immaculata men's soccer team was back in action on Wednesday Evening at Draper Walsh Stadium in a pivotal Atlantic East Conference matchup on Senior Night against the Griffins of Gwynedd Mercy. Both sides went scoreless in throughout the first half but Immaculata emerged victorious after an own goal by Gwynedd Mercy in the 73
rd minute.
How it Happened:
- In the first half, the Macs had numerous strong chances to put them on the scoreboard but Griffins had held their ground despite the Macs having a total of 6 shots on goal.
- With the game being tied 0-0 going to the half, the Macs had possessed the ball 70% for the first 45 minutes.
- In the 73rd minute, Immaculata took a 1-0 lead after an own goal by Gwynedd Mercy.
- Immaculata had held strong for the rest of the game as the Mighty Macs came out victorious against the Griffins 1-0.
In the Box Score:
- The Mighty Macs were aggressive on offense as they outshot the Griffins 8-2.
- Junior goalie Mikey Kalpokas had recorded yet another shutout this evening making two big saves to give him 12 shutouts for his career, which moved him to the top of the list for most career shutouts for a goalie in program history.
