ASTON, Pa.- Looking to build off the momentum from a big victory over Gwynedd Mercy on Wednesday evening, the Immaculata University men's soccer team traveled to Neumann for a pivotal Atlantic East battle. Immaculata used a strong first half performance to cruise to a 4-1 victory over the rival Knights.
How it Happened:
- In the 25th minute, Josh Fonder opened the scoring off a give and go from Nick Boule to give the Macs an early 1-0 lead. Fonder followed this up with a goal of his own just moments later in the 26th minute to claim a commanding 2-0 lead.
- In the 53rd minute, Fonder scored his third goal of the afternoon off an assist from Chad Catalana to record a hat-trick and claim a commanding 3-0 lead heading to the half.
- In the second half, Zachary Malcolm found the back of the net with a goal of his own to extend the lead to 4-0 before Neumann answered back with a goal of its own in the 69th minute to trim the deficit to 4-1. This is as close as the Knights would get as the Macs cruised to a 4-1 victory.
