IMMACULATA, Pa.- On the heels of a tough loss at the hands of Marymount to open conference play yesterday evening, the Immaculata University women's volleyball team remained home on Wednesday evening to face a non-league foe in the Haverford College Fords. Immaculata battled throughout the evening but it was not enough in the 3-0 setback.
How it Happened:
- In the first set, Haverford raced out to an early lead and rode this early advantage to a 25-8 first set victory over Immaculata to jump ahead 1-0.
- In the second set, the two teams traded points throughout the early going before a midset run by the Fords gave the visitors a 19-12 lead late in the second set, which prompted an Immaculata time out. Following this timeout, Haverford closed the set with a 6-1 run to claim a 25-13 second set victory and a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.
- In the third set, Haverford raced out to an early lead and used this early advantage to roll to a 25-4 victory en route to the 3-0 match win over the Macs.
Inside the Box Score:
- Natalie Dependahl ended the evening with a team-high seven digs to lead the Mighty Macs in the setback.
