IMMACULATA, Pa.- The Mighty Mac men's basketball team (9-10) continued their torrid play from the second half of their game against Marywood as they raced out to a 46-29 halftime lead on Wednesday night in a non-conference contest against Rosemont, and cruised to a 70-50 victory, their second in a row.

Mike Piekarski had his second consecutive double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, and sophomore
Brandon McCullough equaled his teammate with 19 points himself. Each of them contributed a team-high six assists. Sophomore
John McArthur had eight points and 12 boards as a solid contributor for the Macs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Rosemont took their largest lead of the game out of the gates at 7-4, but a 16-0 run for the Mighty Macs gave them the lead for good
-Senior
Morgan Bailey scored six, junior
Jordan Ambrose had five, Piekarski hit a jumper and McCullough converted a traditional three point play to cap the spurt that held Rosemont scoreless for over six minutes as IU led 20-7
-An Ambrose three pointer lifted IU to a 26-11 lead midway through the first half
-Rosemont whittled the lead down under 10 points with seven minutes remaining, but Piekarski and McCullough hit back-to-back three pointers to push the lead back to 15
-IU ran the lead up to 20 points after a three-point play by Piekarski with 29 seconds left and a Rosemont three pointer as the buzzer sounded put the Macs up 46-29 at the break
-The two teams struggled offensively to start the second half, as IU outscored Rosemont 10-8 over the first 10 minutes
-The IU lead never dipped below 17 points the rest of the way as the Macs finished off the win

TEAM COMPARISON
-The Mighty Macs were a very efficient 50% (19-for-38) in the first half and finished the game at 28-for-67 (41.8%) while the Mighty Mac defense was stout all night, holding the Ravens to 15-for-48 (31.3%)
-Both teams knocked down six three pointers, while Rosemont had the advantage at the free throw line going 14-for-17 (82.4%) and IU was 8-for-9 (88.9%)
-IU held a significant advantage on the glass, 43-31, and turned Rosemont over 17 times compared to just 11 themselves
-The Macs had 20 assists on 28 made field goals
