Mighty Macs Upended at Eastern

ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - The Immaculata University field hockey team could not overcome an early deficit Monday afternoon on the road against Eastern, falling to the Eagles in the non-conference matchup, 7-1. Layne Kennedy scored the lone goal for the Mighty Macs, her second in as many games, while goalie Randie Kuhar made a game-high 11 saves.

HOW IT HAPPENED
-Eastern got off to a quick start on their home turf, finding the back of the cage four times in the first ten minutes of play. The Eagles tacked on their fifth and final goal of the opening half at 15 minutes in.
-Kennedy was able to get the Macs on the board with just under ten minutes remaining in the contest when she controlled a loose ball in front of the cage and sent it past the Eastern goalie.
-Kuhar made nine saves on 18 Eastern shots in the opening half alone to limit the Eagles to four scores.

TEAM COMPARISON
-Eastern held the advantage in shots on the day, 31-4.
-The Eagles took 16 penalty corners opposite IU's five.
